Chapter 7 · 7.5
Editing a PDF
Choose Edit mode at the top right, or click Edit PDF on the Home tab. Extra tabs will appear: Insert, Forms and Redact.
Adjusting text and images
Click Edit Text on the Home tab and click in the text of the PDF. You can now type and make corrections, just as in a regular document. Click on images to move, resize or delete them.
Insert
On the Insert tab (1), you add new elements to the PDF: a blank page (Blank Page), a table, a text box, an image, shapes, a chart or a hyperlink.

Managing pages
Click Page Thumbnails on the left. Drag a page to another spot to change the order. Right-click a page to rotate it, delete it or add a page. On the Home tab, you'll also find the buttons Insert Page, Rotate Page and Delete Page for this. You can read more about this in Pdf-pagina's draaien, verwijderen of samenvoegen.
Hiding sensitive information
Do you need to share a PDF that contains a national insurance number, bank account or address that others shouldn't see? Use the Redact tab (1). Drawing a black box over it isn't enough: the text remains in the file. Redacting really removes it.

- Click Mark for Redaction and select the text or area that needs to go. Use Find Redact to find, for example, every occurrence of a name; use Redact Pages to black out entire pages.
- Check your markings.
- Click Apply Redactions. The marked information is now permanently removed.
Please note: once you've applied and saved the redactions, you can't retrieve the redacted information anymore. If needed, save a copy of the original first via File and Save Copy As. Redacting helps you comply with data protection regulations when sharing documents containing personal data. A detailed example can be found in Gevoelige gegevens onzichtbaar maken in een pdf.
Tip: do you want to further edit the text of a PDF in the word processor? Then read Een pdf omzetten naar een bewerkbaar Word-bestand.
