Chapter 8 · 8.6
Scanning documents with the app
With the Nextcloud app, you can scan a letter, receipt or form using your phone's camera. The app turns it into a PDF (or image) and saves it straight to your WebOké Nextcloud.
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the folder where the scan should go.
- Tap the + at the bottom and choose Scan document.
- Hold the camera above the paper. The iPhone recognises the edges and often takes the photo automatically. Scan more pages if needed and confirm when you're done.
- You'll then see the Scanned images. Tap the pages or drag them down to place them in the document, in the right order.
- Continue and choose the file name and file type, for example PDF. Save it; the scan will appear in the folder you had open.
On Android
- Open the folder where the scan should go.
- Tap the blue + and choose Scan a document from camera.
- Take a photo of each page (Scan page). You can crop the edges.
- Choose a name and save. The app uploads the scan to the chosen folder.
Tip: place the paper on a dark, plain surface and make sure there's good lighting. This helps the app find the edges best.
Please note: a scan is an image or PDF of a photo. If you want to edit the text, type it out again in a document; see the Euro-Office manual.
The exact names of the buttons differ slightly depending on the version of the app and may appear in English. If you don't see the scan option, update the app via the App store or Google Play.
