Chapter 4 · 4.4
View files: photos, PDF, video and text in the browser
You can open most files in your browser simply by clicking on them. So there's no need to download them first.
Photos and videos
Click on a photo and it opens full-size on your screen. Use the arrow on the right (1) or the arrow keys on your keyboard to browse to the next photo in the folder. Videos play the same way, with the familiar controls for play, volume and full screen.

- Use the play button to the left of it to start a slideshow of all the photos in the folder.
- Use the pencil (2) to edit a photo: crop, rotate, brightness and filters. You can save the result as a copy, so the original stays untouched.
- Under the three dots (3) you'll find options such as download and details.
- Use the cross (4) or the Esc key to go back to the folder.
To view and organise all your photos at once, use the Photos and Memories apps (Photos or Memories: which app for what?).
PDF files
A PDF opens in Euro-Office's PDF view. You can read, search and print it, and if you have an Office licence, you can also add annotations and fill in forms. You can find out how this works in the Euro-Office manual.

Text files
Text files (.txt) and markdown files (.md) open in the Text app. You can edit them directly there; see Creating notes and text files with Text.
Office documents
Word, Excel and PowerPoint files (and the LibreOffice equivalents) open in Euro-Office. See the Euro-Office manual.
Files that don't open in the browser
For other types of files, such as a zip file or a program, Nextcloud chooses to download them. You then open them on your own computer.
